Benefit Luncheon for Bob's Family:
Wests Ashfield - Sunday 23rd September
For the second time in less than eighteen months Sydney taxis have flown black ribbons in memory of a murdered colleague. Yet again a taxi driver won't ever be coming home; once more a family has lost someone dear to them. Another person has been murdered while simply trying to do their job.
On Sunday 23rd September the Australian Petroleum & Automotive Engineering Trust will be holding a fundraising luncheon at West Ashfield in support of Bob Woodger's family. Tickets are available from:

The ATDA fully supports this compassionate initiative and urges all members to attend. We trust that Ministry of Transport representatives and key taxi industry personnel will also show their support.
The automotive industry has been quick to respond: a spectacular example of generosity has come from Tyrepower, who are donating a set of 4 passenger tyres to the value of $800, including fitting, balancing and wheel alignment, which will auctioned on the day.
The ATDA acknowledges and appreciates the support shown to Robert's family by the NSW Shadow Minister for Transport Gladys Berejiklian, who publicly expressed her support for the Black Ribbon campaign (click here to read the Shadow Minister's press release).
So far Transport Minister John Watkins has responded by making the long overdue findings of the Taxi Safety Task Force public. Hopefully the Task Force's recommendations will now be implemented before we witness yet another tragedy.
